Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and security-cleared Data Quality Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our critical data assets across systems and platforms. This role is critical to maintaining compliance, supporting mission-critical analytics, and ensuring trusted data pipelines within a secure environment.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automated data quality validation processes
  • Create data profiling routines to assess data completeness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Design and maintain data quality dashboards and metrics
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define data quality rules and standards
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues and anomalies
  • Participate in data governance initiatives to improve data lifecycle management
  • Support compliance and audit requirements related to secure data handling
  • Ensure adherence to federal data security protocols within classified environments

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance (DoD), with ability to maintain clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a data quality, data engineering, or similar technical role
  • Proficient with SQL and data quality tools (e.g., Informatica DQ, Talend, Great Expectations, etc.)
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data in cloud or hybrid environments
  • Understanding of data governance principles and data management best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with data security frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP)
  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, Kafka)
  • Working knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
