Senior Plant Planning and Scheduling Specialist

Beaver Generation Plant, Clatskanie, OR

SUMMARY

As a Senior Plant Planning & Scheduling Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to plan, analyze, prioritize, and coordinate work activities to optimize maintenance needs of critical physical assets for electrical generation, transmission, and distribution. You will develop and execute outage activities to ensure optimum availability, while effectively utilizing staffing, materials, and equipment. A successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of plant mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as advanced analytical thinking and project management skills. This role offers the chance to directly impact the reliability and efficiency of PGE's energy infrastructure, contributing to the company's clean energy goals. You'll be at the forefront of implementing cutting-edge maintenance strategies, ensuring the smooth operation of vital power generation facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Corrective and Preventive Maintenance Planning - Plans, analyzes, prioritizes and coordinates work activities to optimize maintenance needs of physical assets critical to electrical generation, transmission and distribution.

Maintenance Strategy - Uses maintenance management software and selects and plans maintenance strategies that will address maintenance needs in an optimum and economical manner; analyzes effectiveness of the maintenance management program and requests needed changes; implements changes as approved by management.

Maintenance Scheduling - Develops detailed schedules for corrective and preventive maintenance using a scheduling software with labor loading and levelization and critical-path determination for small- or medium-scope projects; ensures that periodic preventative maintenance plans are in place and executed in a timely manner; determines status and progress of all scheduled jobs and establishes a recovery plan for any schedule deviations; coordinates contractor site visits to identify work scope and obtain bids and make recommendations to management on contractor selection.

Materials Availability/ Procurement - Evaluates replacement parts, suppliers and vendor services based on costs, availability and schedule compliance; initiates procurement of materials and services needed for work orders; verifies receipt of services.

Outage Coordination - Develops and executes outage activities in a manner that effectively utilizes staffing, materials and equipment to ensure optimum availability; coordinates outage activities cross-functionally and interdepartmentally for on time outage execution; ensures that corrective and preventative maintenance activities and related repair projects are started and completed efficiently, economically and in a scheduled time frame; ensures actions required are adhered to and outage orders are up to date; leads outage meetings; provides support during all plant outages; coordinates with Generation Coordination/Power Operations.

Maintenance Procedures - Reviews existing maintenance procedures and makes recommendations to improve or replace them; proposes new maintenance procedures; implements maintenance procedures requirements into job plans and work packages; maintains and implements the predictive/preventative maintenance program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS

Education

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Typically five or more years in plant maintenance or operations in a power generation facility or related field.

Compensation Range:

$89,175.00 - $178,375.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
