WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS Waukesha County Airport is looking to hire up to 20 temporary, part-time workers to perform snow/de-icing duties and other related grounds maintenance work. This position requires the ability to work in all weather conditions. CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION Example of Duties
- Operates equipment for snow removal and de-icing under adverse weather conditions.
- Inspects, maintains, and operates daily assigned equipment to ensure continued safe and efficient operation of the airport.
- May be called upon at any time to respond to emergency situations such as: snowstorms, windstorms, flooding,accidents, fires.
- Establishes and maintains effective working and public relations with coworkers, airport users, service providers, the public, vendors, and outside agencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Essential Knowledge and Abilities
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices.
- Ability to operate a variety of trucks and equipment necessary for airport grounds maintenance.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor for extended periods under variable weather conditions.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co-workers, the public, vendors and outside agencies.
- Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles.
- Ability to respond at any time to emergency situations such as snowstorms, windstorms, flooding, traffic accidents, and fires.
You must meet these minimum Training and Experience requirements:
- High school graduation or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Possess mechanical aptitude.
- Work experience in airport and/or other facility's grounds maintenance, and the operation of a variety of related trucks and equipment, is highly desirable.
- Possession of a valid Wisconsin Class B Commercial Driver's License is highly desirable.
