Farnsworth Group is seeking a Water Resources Engineer - H&H Modeler in one of the below posting locations. In this role, you will be focused on technical modeling, mentoring younger staff on modeling techniques, and providing QA/QC.


Posting Locations for this role: Champaign, Lisle, or Tinley Park, IL


Job Activities:


  • Develop hydrologic, hydraulic, and 2D models in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA-SWMM, PC SWMM, and lnfoWorks ICM for existing and proposed conditions
  • Prepare inundation maps and exhibits from models
  • Prepare reports and presentations to clients and permit reviewers in support of project objectives and deliverables
  • Mentor and direct junior staff on modeling tasks, analysis, and deliverables
  • Conduct floodplain and riverine studies, urban storm sewer system analysis, and master planning modeling efforts.
  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to determine stormwater requirements and facilitate permit approvals
  • Assist with business development efforts by maintaining and enhancing relationships with clients
  • Assist with the design of water resources engineering projects


Specific Requirements include:


  • BS in Civil, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 10 or more years of experience in engineering field
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Expertise in HEC-RAS and EPA-SWMM
  • Passion for water resources and stormwater management


Desired Qualifications Include:


  • Experience with PC-SWMM, HEC-HMS, Hydaflow Hydrographs
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience designing and managing projects in the water resources engineering field
  • Experience working with clients
  • Strong team player who can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously

Salary Range: $106,000 - $144,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
