Position Summary:



Reporting to the Director of Data Solutions, works within the Information Systems (IS) department to provide technical design and implementation of solutions to meet organization's data delivery requirements. Serves as the Technical Lead of the Modern Data Platform (MDP) initiative of moving on prem SQL Server EDW to modern Databricks Cloud Platform on AWS Gov Cloud. Collaborates with the Data Engineering team and leads the assessment, planning, and architecture phases of multiple projects for building the solutions for delivering faster and intuitive access to the data stored in the JHHP Enterprise Data Platform for developers, analysts, data driven processes, and self-service applications.



The role is 50% leading and mentoring, with 50% hands on development and maintenance of data access objects such as Views, Data Marts, Semantic layers, ETL packages, Aggregates, Metadata, and Master Data together with the operational support and management of these. Develops complete understanding of the design, contents, data structure, and operations of the Data Platform to facilitate knowledge sharing across the data consumers in the business and IT. Utilizes a variety of mediums to keep current on advances in new and existing technologies.



Experience needed:




  • 7+ years of hands-on experience architecting and developing data warehousing and business intelligence solutions to meet the needs for high quality data utilizing Databricks, AWS Gov, Azure Gov, PySpark, SparkSQL,Data Services, Informatica, ER Studio, Erwin,SSIS, Information Steward, SSAS, SSRS and SharePoint technologies.


  • Proven Databricks delivery experience within AWS and Microsoft platforms and services is a must.


  • Total years of experience should also include a minimum of 4 years of work experience in leading specific technical teams of data warehouse programmers, data modelers, ETL developers, BI developers, and consultants.


  • Total years of experience should also include a minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL Server 2008R2 & 2012/2014 or Oracle and strong knowledge in other areas of enterprise databases, including views, stored procedures, dimensional models, data marts, master data management, data lineage, functions and triggers, and data profiling.


  • Total years of experience should also include a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries across large volumes of data. Experience extracting, collecting, analyzing and interpreting health, utilization, and financial data from various sources for a health plan organization is required.



Skills:




  • Exposure to multiple, diverse data management technologies, and processing environments Strong skills conducting functional and technical requirement gathering sessions for data warehousing projects with business and technology stakeholders and management.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Experience analyzing, extracting, transforming, integrating, and publishing health, utilization, claims, pharmacy, and financial data from various sources into enterprise data warehouse and data marts
  • Must be able to create and read data architecture diagrams, analyze the dependencies and relationships with multiple data objects, and utilize multi-dimensional database structures to create queries for producing requested result sets
  • Proficient in Databricks, AWS Gov, Azure Gov, PySpark, SparkSQL. Strong leadership skills



Education:



Work requires a professional level of knowledge in Information Analysis and Delivery and managed care operations as acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare or Business Management. A Master's degree is preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum 50.55/hour - Maximum 88.47/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
