About the Role

Are you energized by complex systems, empowered by data, and motivated by the opportunity to improve healthcare delivery behind the scenes? We are seeking aTechnical Product Managerto support the discovery, definition, and delivery of data-rich product initiatives, particularly focused oncase management, operational workflows, and service deliverywithin the health benefits space.

This is ahybrid rolethat mergesproduct managementresponsibilities witha major focus on data analysis and modeling during the discovery and design phases of digital product development. This role is ideal for someone who loves untangling ambiguity, documenting operational processes and data flows, and ensuring the right data underpins the development of scalable solutions. You'll partner across engineering, analytics, product, and operations teams to turn complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements.

What you'll do...

Product Discovery & Design

  • Partner with Sr. Product Managers and business stakeholders totranslate operational and case management needsinto clear product requirements and user stories.

  • Leaddiscovery and definitional effortsfor data-centric features: clarify scope, reconcile data sources, address operational dependencies, and drive feature alignment across business and development teams.

  • Conduct detailed reviews and reconciliation of customer-related data sets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and trust in critical operational and product data.

  • Map data-intensive operational workflows to identify where and how data flows across systems, teams, and touchpoints, including those bridging into third-party systems as we expand our technology platform's interoperability.

  • Facilitatetechnical scoping conversationswith Engineering and Data stakeholders, helping evaluate feasibility, sequencing, and trade-offs.

  • Assist in developing or enhancing data models that support key product and operational workflows, ensuring data availability aligns with business needs.

  • Develop and maintaindocumentationincluding feature specs, business models and rules, data flow diagrams, workflows, and system integrations.

  • Drive data-centric features & initiatives, owning requirements, supporting sprint planning, and helping provide quality oversight.

  • Supportincident reviews and post-mortemswhere data gaps, system issues, or workflow errors have occurred.

  • Contribute to roadmap planning andcontinuous improvement initiativesby identifying pain points, prioritizing solutions, and articulating value.

Data Analysis & Modeling

  • Analyze and reconcilemember- and service-related data setsto ensure quality, completeness, and usability.

  • Partner with data engineering and analytics teams to understand healthcare data requirements, validate instrumentation, and support development ofdata modelsthat reflect business logic.

  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of dashboards and reportingthat help track product experience KPIs, and performance across internal service operations at the intersection of the member experience.

  • Performroot cause analysiswhen data discrepancies or system failures impact the product or member experience.

  • Recommenddata structure or process changesthat improve data accuracy, interoperability, and visibility across the organization.

About you...

  • 4-6+ years of experience in product management for technical domains, product operations, business systems analysis, or data analysis, ideally in healthcare or another complex service environment.

  • Solid understanding ofproduct development lifecycleand agile methodologies, with experience working closely with software engineers, data teams, and operations.

  • An Excel ninja who's competent with SQLqueries and comfortable working with data platforms (e.g., Power BI, Mixpanel).

  • Demonstrated experience mapping and modelingmulti-system operational workflowsand identifying opportunities for process improvement. Expertise in business process modeling notation (BPMN) is highly desirable!

  • Familiar withdata modeling concepts(e.g., entity relationships, data normalization) and able to partner on designing or validating schemas that support business use cases.

  • Comfortable leadingdiscovery and definitionfor technical or backend-heavy product features.

  • Strongdocumentation skillsand familiarity with systems including MS Office, Confluence, Lucid, Miro/Mural, Jira, and the like.

  • Clear communicator who can navigate bothtechnical detail and business context, translating between stakeholders with ease.

  • Resilient and passionate, aware that change is constant and able to adapt with a positive attitude

Nice to Have

  • Experience working withcase management systems, contact center tooling, or third-party service platforms.

  • Exposure toAPIs, microservices, data pipelines, and integration patterns.

  • Understanding ofHIPAA, data governance, FHIR standards, and other healthcare compliance frameworks.

  • Background inhealthtech, benefits administration, or EMR/EHR systems.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $120,000 - $135,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
