Staffmark is hiring! Join a high-precision manufacturing team as a Machine Operator in San Marcos, CA. This 3rd shift role offers $22/hr and
a chance to operate CNC laser machining centers in a fast-paced production environment. Lead experience preferred.

Pay: $22/hour

Shift: 3rd Shift | 12:00 AM - 8:30 AM, Monday-Friday

About the Role:

Operate CNC-controlled laser machines to produce small, fragile parts, primarily thin alumina ceramics, with occasional metals and plastics. This is not a warehouse role-no forklifts, heavy lifting, or cutting fluids.

Responsibilities:



  • Load parts, operate controls, set offsets, perform edits, deburr, and inspect parts for quality.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and job travelers.
  • Monitor machine performance, adjust controls, and report malfunctions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance.
  • Manage workload, start up/shut down equipment, and coordinate with sales and engineering teams.



Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • CNC or laser machining experience; 2-axis X/Y Aerotech laser experience preferred.
  • Ability to diagram a square wave and label on/off time and duty cycle.
  • Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and knowledge of precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read drawings, follow instructions, and apply shop math.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD; Linux, Java, C++, or HTML a plus.
  • Able to stand for the full shift in a fast-paced environment.
  • CNC milling experience a plus; able to transfer skills from HAAS, Fadal, Mitsubishi machines to 2-axis lasers.
