As a Bill Pay Specialist at Corcentric, you will join a collaborative team within an ambitious, entrepreneurial global organization. You will play a key role in executing accurate and timely bill payments, managing customer interactions, and supporting internal systems and processes to ensure seamless financial operations.

This position is a work-from-home opportunity. We are currently hiring out of the following locations:

  • Omaha, Nebraska
  • Des Moines, Iowa
  • Cedar Rapids, Iowa

In order to be considered, you should be within a commutable distance to one of these key hiring markets, as there may be in-person training and team-building events from time to time.

This role reports to the Manager, Payments Operations within our Payment Division. We're a dedicated, down-to-earth group in a growing organization offering plenty of opportunity. We look forward to adding you into the mix!

As a Bill Pay Specialist, you will:

  • Process payments through online portals and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls using a soft-phone application.
  • Build rapport with customers and resolve payment-related issues.
  • Use Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools to manage daily workload and maintain accurate records.
  • Navigate websites and search engines to collect payment contact information.
  • Retrieve and analyze payment data from CRM and payment systems.
  • Review data in Excel to support bill payment tasks.
  • Submit product and development tickets for technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot declining payments and escalate when necessary.
  • Understand and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Follow call handling procedures and telephone etiquette.
  • Manage payment cases and update CRM with accurate notes and outcomes.
  • Communicate with client Accounts Payable teams using email templates.
  • Handle team email queue with proper case management procedures.

You'll need to have:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with a focus on quality service delivery.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC software (MS Office applications, internet, and web-based applications)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and case management.
  • Accountability and time management to meet deadlines independently.
  • Strong collaboration skills with eagerness to contribute to a positive team dynamic.
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and apply them effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Coachability and a willingness to improve through feedback.

It's great if you also have:

  • Experience with CRM systems, Excel, and online payment platforms
  • Familiarity with IVR systems and customer service best practices
  • Prior experience in a Payments Processing or Financial Operations role

Your compensation package upon joining Corcentric will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to your relevant professional experience and qualifications: your certifications, training, and educational achievements; your geographic location; and Corcentric business and organizational requirements. It is expected that the hourly pay rate for this full-time role will be between $20-$21/hour, plus eligibility for our annual discretionary bonus program.
