ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Associate Wealth Advisor supports Senior Wealth Advisors in delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment management services to clients as part of an interdisciplinary team. This role is ideal for professionals pursuing or holding the CFP designation and looking to grow into a Senior Advisor role. You'll work closely with clients and colleagues, manage mass affluent client relationships, help prepare financial plans and ensure a seamless client experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Client Relationship Support:



  • Support Senior Advisors by assisting in the management of client relationships and by preparing for and participating in client meetings.
  • Actively prospect and manage mass affluent client relationships to build an advisory book of business.
  • Follow up on client action items and ensure timely execution of deliverables.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for client inquiries and service needs.


Financial Planning & Analysis:



  • Offer fiduciary advice based upon the CFP Board Code of Ethics.
  • Prepare and update financial plans using eMoney.
  • Stay current on contribution limits, tax planning strategies, and other financial planning topics.
  • Analyze client data to support recommendations in areas such as retirement, tax, estate, and insurance planning.
  • Collaborate with Senior Advisors to develop and present financial planning strategies.


Investment Support:



  • Assist in portfolio reviews, rebalancing, asset allocation and performance reporting.
  • Monitor client portfolios and flag opportunities for improvement.


Operational & Administrative Tasks:



  • Support onboarding of new clients, including paperwork, custodial coordination, and data entry.
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce, Nautilus and financial planning systems.
  • Assist with compliance documentation and internal reporting.


Team Collaboration & Development:



  • Work closely with Alerus Wealth team members and other partners across the enterprise.
  • Participate in internal training and development programs.
  • Contribute to process improvements and firm-wide initiatives.


WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • FINRA SIE, Series 7, 65/66 required within 6 months of hire.
  • CFP certification preferred or in progress.
  • 2-5 years of experience in financial planning or wealth management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in eMoney financial planning software, SEI Wealth Platform, Osaic and Microsoft Excel.
  • Client-first mindset with a high level of professionalism.
  • Eagerness to grow into a lead advisor role.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit.
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable to evolving tools and systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office utilizing proper ergonomic safeguards when doing so. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift or move supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
