Job Overview
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex information technology solutions that meet existing and potential customers' needs and further CGS's existing suite of IT capabilities. In addition, you will lead or support business development activities to identify and win new work. CGS works with a broad array of clients and this individual will need to have strong technical capabilities, versatile and passionate approach, and eager to play an active role in the presales processes and design the architecture that fits the client's needs. You'll work closely with program managers, engineers, and government stakeholders to shape architectures that are secure, compliant, and mission aligned. This role is central to our business development efforts, technical strategy, and thought leadership and requires a comprehensive understanding of various technologies and strong communication skills to work effectively with clients and technical teams. Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Identify gaps in clients' technology systems and formulating improved software and hardware applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative solutions and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Oversee the implementation of solutions throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Research and recommend new technologies to enhance current customers systems/CGS capabilities.
- Architect end-to-end solutions for DoD tactical systems, intelligence platforms, and secure IT environments.
- Provide production support for existing technology solutions as required.
- Translate mission requirements into scalable cloud, data, and cybersecurity architectures.
- Quickly grasp technical client requirements and articulate a matching solution architecture.
- Author technical white papers and solution briefs that demonstrate innovation and compliance.
- Ensure alignment with federal standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP, DoD STIGs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver proofs-of-concept and demos.
- Evaluate emerging technologies (advanced cyber operations, AI/ML, zero trust, edge computing) for mission applicability.
- Lead business development across assigned accounts, manage and prosecute a related pipeline.
- Lead technical strategy for proposals, RFPs, and capture efforts targeting DoD and IC clients.
- Brief potential clients the CGS product portfolio, in writing (including RFI/RFP), online or during face-to-face meeting (including presentation and demo workshops).
Accountable for:
- Lead business development across assigned accounts, manage and prosecute a related pipeline.
- Lead technical strategy for proposals, RFPs, and capture efforts targeting DoD and IC clients.
- Brief potential clients the CGS product portfolio, in writing (including RFI/RFP), online or during face-to-face meeting (including presentation and demo workshops).
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's or master's in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with federal and DoD exposure.
- 1 or more certifications: AWS/Azure Architect, CISSP, Security+, IAT, etc.
- Proven experience supporting DoD or IC programs (e.g., INSCOM, AF, DIA, NSA, Army Futures Command).
- Deep knowledge of cyber operations and emerging technical solutions.
- Experience working IT Solutions: Hybrid cloud, enterprise modernization, DevSecOps, zero trust architecture.
- Experience with cybersecurity Agile, DevSecOps, and/or CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with classified environments and secure enclave design.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills for proposals and white papers.
Preferred:
- Master's or higher degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Active Secret (Top-Secret clearance preferred).
- Familiarity with tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Splunk, and Palantir.
- Prior work with federal integrators or prime contractors.
