Position Summary


This position is responsible for the operationalization of new solutions, and focuses on transitioning new solutions into standard, deployable operations by refining commercial offerings, managing the development of new features toward standard procedures, and enabling the business to adopt new technologies and solutions efficiently, while providing stakeholder feedback to ensure innovation and operational effectiveness.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the process to transition the new solutions from concept to standard operations. Ensure the development and proper archival of supporting documentation to serve as a guide for future deployment of solution.
  • Establish a governance process for any changes or updates to the solution standard set. Serve as the point of contact for updates and provide training/communications to all stakeholders on changes, their reasons, and impacts to the organization and clients
  • Support comprehensive program delivery activities such as developing operations manuals, marketing and communication plans, developing program delivery guidelines (e.g. KPIs), and program transition criteria to local program teams. This may include building additional artifacts or supporting specific program activities that are necessary to document the solution.
  • Prepare effective communications (e.g., memos, presentations, analysis) to support program policy changes, critical management decisions, corrective actions, or other key decisions.
  • Maintain communication with delivery, solutions and commercial excellence stakeholders, escalating key issues in a timely manner to garner support, bringing insights, guidance and/or resources back to the program team as appropriate.
  • As part of the commercial excellence team this role will be the primary point of contact to support bid operations with insight to as-deployed solutions (staffing models, efficacy, etc) , and will be a key resource for bid teams when understanding what portion of the proposed solution is new vs standard.
  • Keep abreast of industry progress, including energy policy, new program models, technologies, and approaches that can be adapted to Franklin Energy's solutions.


Position Requirements


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Environmental Studies, etc. or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Energy Efficiency, Energy Management, Sustainability, Program Management, or Demand Side Management Programs.
  • Experience in energy efficiency programs and with the Demand Side Management industry.
  • Executive level communication and presentation skills.
  • Contract negotiation experience including writing statements of work, developing KPIs, and working with subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with Excel model development for the purposes of understanding how programs work, productivity assumptions and savings assumptions



Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities



  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a complex strategic vision and translate its pursuit into actionable tactics, actions, and objectives.
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet and Power BI.
  • Professional experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders, such as state, local and federal governments, for-profit and non-profit org
  • Ability to document standards and create artifacts usable by operations teams for training or operations planning.
  • Ability to clearly define, refine, train, and manage teams in the implementation of internal processes and controls - specifically as it pertains to standards developed in the practice of this role.
  • Experience in building and leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience creating a collaborative team culture through direct and indirect leadership.
  • Ability to proactively manage risks and issues across all facets of initiative and program implementation.
