About the Department and/or College

Major/Essential Functions

Manages undergraduate recruitment and enrollment in the areas of planning, organizing and developing goals and procedures. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises students and subordinate staff.

Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large, specialized project and/or program. Requires independent judgment and application of established policies and procedures. Works under general supervision with evaluation based on overall results obtained.
  • Leader/point of contact for on-campus recruiting events, including but not limited to: AIS visits, student VIPs, Connect Tech, TTU Preview, Select Tech, Spring Break Visit Days, Summer Showcase, Saturday Visit Days, Transfer Visit Days, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management & Marketing to develop and implement recruitment strategies to increase student enrollment.
  • Serve as liaison to University Advising for the recruitment of current undecided students.
  • Collaborate with TTU stakeholders across campus to be a liaison for prospective students regarding all resources and opportunities for future College of Media & Communication students.
  • Organizes staffing for and attends face-to-face and virtual recruiting events including Raider Roadshows, community college fairs, transfer fairs, high-school visits and all off-campus recruiting events as needed.
  • Manage programming for Dean's Student Ambassadors, including but not limited to: conducting interviews annually, developing and updating the DSA bylaws and policies, collaborating with the dean and dean's assistant to schedule DSA leadership dinners and scheduling annual program calendar, working with the Dean's Office to arrange travel for speakers and speaking engagements, collaborating with the student engagement coordinator to schedule student engagement hours for DSAs, orders DSA uniform attire based on allocated budget, plans and hosts 2-day training for DSAs to be held every fall, acts as a mentor for all DSA members.
  • Utilize data to develop strategic recruiting strategies.
  • Manage the development and dissemination of recruiting materials, marketing/promotional items, presentations, and information about all undergraduate programs (F2F and Online).
  • Collaborate with marketing to create social media campaigns for enrollment management.
  • Oversees recruiting student assistants whose responsibility is to assist with recruiting needs and DSA functions as needed.
  • Assists the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management & Marketing and the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Affairs with other duties and tasks that benefit students as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Ability to travel
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to interact with and build professional relationships with students, faculty and staff members, and employers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software platforms

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.

Preferred Qualifications


  • B.A. in an academic discipline related to media and communication
  • M.A. in an academic discipline related to media and communication
  • Previous experience in higher education student recruiting
  • Knowledge of HB 5 and other state policies related to career pathways for public school students in the state of Texas
  • Knowledge of community college transfer policies
  • Knowledge of recruiting and analytics software
  • Experience presenting information in front of large and small groups
  • Experience in project management

Must be available between the hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with occasional evenings or weekends as required. Requires travel and active participation in off-campus recruiting events and other outreach activities as needed throughout the academic year.
