Zayo is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Field ISP. Our Senior Project Manager - Field ISP is responsible for the overall project management of orders relating to inside plant construction activities.This includes on-time and cost-effective management of projects to support the installation of Zayo network and customer equipment throughout Zayo's network.

We are open to this position working remotely within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership and close knowledge of multiple orders (150+ at a time) while driving on-time and cost-effective completions.

  • Identify project components, teams involved, inter-relationships between work functions, and ensure engagement as well as being able to identify process improvement opportunities. Also requires providing guidance and training to ISP specialists and project managers.

  • Critical path identification and key issue resolution including: anticipation, mitigation, and escalations.

  • Host weekly sync calls with assigned engineers and leadership to review in-flight projects, and to update weekly reports that detail the status of those projects. Also, daily calls with internal/external partners are normal to manage critical path items that could jeopardize delivery timelines.

  • Ensure engineer deliverables (SOW/COP) are acceptable, and that all financial related activities are completed before closing of the project.

  • Create and track capital subprojects, purchase requests, and 3rd party expense builders throughout the entire lifecycle of the project.

  • Support ISP project managers and ISP Specialists as a subject matter expert as it relates to daily work activities, procedures, and process.

  • Work cross-functionally to drive delivery with assigned engineers as well as Zayo teams in: field operations, outside plant, fiber engineering, service delivery, real estate, circuit design, pre-sales support teams, external vendors, and occasionally with end customers directly.

  • Establish project timelines with assigned engineers that are actively managed and communicated to internal/external stakeholders on a weekly basis.

  • Receive and process quotes from external installation contractors and equipment distributors.

  • Proactively manage budget variances and overruns as well as communicating the analysis of those variances to leadership.

  • Identify and resolve project issues ensuring they are on-time and within the forecasted budget. Updates for each project to be provided on a weekly basis at minimum.

  • Serve as a point of contact for your assigned area within Zayo's network for responding to ISP related activities, and any related problem-solving needs.

  • This position may require occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of space, power, and fiber capacity builds.

  • Strong communication skills are required as this role demands constant interaction with the assigned engineers, other senior ISP teammates, ISP management, and internal/external partners.

  • Proficient in the project management of tight/aggressive timelines and schedules.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

  • Strong de-escalation skills.

  • Demonstrated investigational and problem solving skills.

  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and Google Sheets.

  • Strong understanding of ISP project dependencies, the ability to make effective decisions based on project management rules, and identifying systemic issues for resolution. Also need the ability to guide and train ISP specialists and project managers to do the same.

  • Proficient with facets of ISP order management including: quoting, installation, and delivery.

  • Proficient with SalesForce and SiteTracker.

  • Business minded and able to maintain a commercial focus.

  • Previous project management experience in any industry is a plus.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education, training and/or experience.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years telecommunications and/or project management experience.

  • PMP Certification a plus

Estimated Base Salary Range: $87,600 - $134,700 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
