About the role: You will work closely with site leadership and cross-functional teams to implement EH&S programs, support training initiatives, and help integrate safety and sustainability practices into daily operations. This position provides the opportunity to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and employee well-being. Work model, sponsorship, relocation: Your responsibilities will include: * Support the development, implementation, and review of the site's Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), including training, awareness, and internal auditing activities. * Assist with sustainability initiatives such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and emissions reduction. Coordinate Green Team activities and community service/environmental awareness events. * Ensure regulatory compliance with environmental programs (e.g., Stormwater, Tier II reporting, SPCC, Hazardous & Universal Waste, Air permits, CEMS). Maintain records, conduct self-assessments, and provide related employee training. * Support the management of hazardous, regulated, and solid waste programs, including procedures, manifest tracking, and audit readiness. * Partner with the Occupational Health Nurse to support health initiatives such as flu clinics, blood drives, bloodborne pathogen training, and wellness programs. * Conduct ergonomic assessments (REBA, workstation reviews) and develop corrective actions to reduce ergonomic risks. * Assist with compliance to site safety programs including Hot Work, Fall Protection, MHE Safety, Hazard Communication, Chemical Inventory, Confined Space, Contractor Safety, Electrical Safety, and LOTO programs. Conduct employee training and annual self-assessments. * Track EH&S metrics such as TRIR, LWR, PBR, and SICR. Support action plans, inspection walkthroughs, and reporting improvements to strengthen site safety performance. * Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring for ethylene oxide exposure and support mitigation activities, including employee training and reporting. * Support emergency planning efforts, including evacuation drills, accident investigations, and root cause analysis. * Participate in risk assessments, identify potential EH&S issues, and assist in developing corrective actions. * Contribute to EH&S presentations, postings, and communications to keep employees informed and engaged. * Partner with departments across the site to promote safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
