Role Summary:
Reporting to the Automation Sales Manager, the Engineer in Training will participate in a specialized training program designed to prepare them for a role as an Automation Engineer with Kendall Electric. This program, developed in partnership with Rockwell Automation, focuses on building technical and professional competencies through an intensive training curriculum. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be eligible for an Automation Specialist or Automation Engineer role within The Kendall Group.
Exciting work you will do:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Engineer in Training position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Participate in the Engineer in Training (EIT) program, which includes a 16-week intensive training at Rockwell Automation's Mayfield Heights, Ohio campus
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of automation technologies, including Controllers, Networks, Visualization, Drives, Safety, and more
- Develop professional skills such as presentation techniques, customer engagement, and inclusion
- Dedicate time to study and prepare for the training program both before and after scheduled classes, ensuring mastery of technical concepts and materials
- Successfully complete evaluations, including written and practical exams, lab work, and projects
- Prepare to transition into an Automation Specialist or Automation Engineer role upon successful completion of the program
- Perform other duties as assigned

Program Requirements:
- Training Location and Duration: The 16-week core training will take place at Rockwell Automation's Mayfield Heights, Ohio campus, with an additional 6-8 weeks of advanced training
- Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated throughout the program via exams, lab work, and projects, with feedback and remediation as needed
- Costs Covered: All training costs, housing, and daily living expenses during the program are covered by The Kendall Group. Housing is provided, and participants will receive a weekly food allowance
- Relocation Commitment: Upon successful completion of the program, participants must be open to relocation within The Kendall Group's footprint as needed for their role
- Employment Commitment: A three-year employment commitment with The Kendall Group is required upon completion of the program. Early departure may require repayment of the training investment

What you'll need:
- Experience: Entry Level
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or
- other BS that can be applied to Automation, Networks, and Information Systems and approved by the EIT program. minimum GPA 2.75
- Analytics/Computer Skills High comfortability with digital tools and a strong acumen for quickly learning new software applications; familiarity with Office365 applications including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts and tools provided during the training program.
- Study and Preparation: Ability to dedicate time to study and prepare for the training program both before and after scheduled classes, ensuring mastery of technical concepts and materials
- Organization Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment; very strong attention to detail; self-motivated and proactive
- Cross-functional Skills: Creative and strategic thinker; ability to provide excellent internal and external customer service
- Communication Skills: Strong written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and management.

Skills we prefer but don't require:
- Experience: 6 months employment with Kendall Electric. Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation products, such as Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and/or similar industrial automation equipment
