SUMMARY

The Speech-Language Pathologist III provides diagnostic evaluations and intervention programs for children with speech, language, learning, feeding/swallowing, or hearing disorders in all settings in which services are offered including but not limited to inpatient, outpatient, outreach, and telehealth programs. The Speech-Language Pathologist III successfully fulfills the requirements of a lead role in a specified area or completes and maintains the Career Advancement Program (CAP), demonstrating both excellence in job performance and on-going contributions in service, education and research, and professional development and leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform. Expertise in specific clinical area through training and education requirements as approved by Manager

Provides developmentally appropriate diagnostic evaluations, intervention services, and case management activities consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in discipline area (e.g., physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, audiology) and department quality assurance standards.
Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. Provides consultation and education to other professionals and families as necessary.
Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames.
Evaluates and treats children across the continuum, with a variety of diagnoses, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets.
Provides clinical supervision as needed/when appropriate

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION - Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
EXPERIENCE - Three years' experience providing pediatric speech-language pathology services in a pediatric setting focusing on family centered care; one year experience providing pediatric speech-language pathology services at Children's Hospital Colorado.
CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR; American SpeechLanguage-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)-Speech Language Pathologist. Maintained criteria for Speech-Language Pathologist III and obtained requirements listed in the Career Advancement Program guidelines.
LICENSURE - State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $90,900.58 to $136,350.88
