Computer Programmer II

The Computer Programmer II shall develop databases and applications which facilitate the storage, QA/QC, reporting, and dissemination of multi-scale biological and ecological field observation data.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Computer Programmer II: $55,000 - $70,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Computer Programmer II Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain enterprise relational database systems, often using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and/or PostgreSQL to support headless and GUI applications.
  • Develop server-side Application Programming Interfaces (API) that facilitate interaction between databases and various associated client applications.
  • Participate with senior team members on software specification, requirements, database, and application design meetings as requested.
  • Work on assigned tickets within the Advanced Applications Team issue tracking system(s).
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Computer Programmer II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
  • 1-2 years relevant practical experience/training.
  • Proficient with C# .NET as software development languages,

  • Good working knowledge of T/SQL as an enterprise database communication language
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio for C#.NET development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
  • Must be proficient with Visual Studio as a primary development environment.
  • Although not required, a general understanding of GIS environments and geospatial data containers is a plus for working on geospatially driven web applications.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to work well independently or as a team member.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
