Job Description
We are currently hiring a Packaging Supervisorin Cincinnati, OH.
ThePackaging Supervisorwill be responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned shifts, including safety, quality, efficiency, process execution, and team development. This position will be responsible for in-specification packaging of all high-speed manufacturing production, including but not limited to; bottling, canning, and/or kegging lines, ensuring the product is ready on time, as needed for distribution, and complete supervision of hourly staff. Supervises operation following brewery policies and procedures. This role may also include weekly ownership of process improvement for a specifically assigned zone.
What You'll Brew:

  • Demonstrate passion and enthusiastically support and drive a high-performance team environment through highly motivated, collaborative, and engaged operators and leads.
  • Strong floor presence (70%+ time spent on the floor) and employee-engaging leadership style.
  • Direct Packaging Operators perform required tasks to ensure quality product production through proper sanitation, processing, and packaging procedures
  • Lead the onboarding of hires and participate in operator succession planning
  • Lead preparation and delivery of employee evaluation process and ensure alignment within the spirit of the performance management program, including new hire evaluations
  • Proctor pre-shift meetings daily to express high-level information and direct the hourly group through safety, quality, brewing, and material concerns, developments, or obstacles
  • Ensure teams are following processes and projects related to continuous improvement activities, including but not limited to; Lean, Kaizen, Centerline, line visualization, TPM
  • Supervise and review the performance of direct reports and develop staff professionally and technically to meet goals
  • Lead, develop and monitor all critical control points to ensure consistency and quality
  • Monitor production plans and accomplish current and future schedules
  • Identify production-related issues, including process loss and equipment OEE, and make recommendations to bring issues to closure
  • Report, investigate and ensure accurate communication of incidents and work-related injuries


What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in a process engineer role
  • 2+ years of proven leadership and supervisory skills/experience
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing/CPG environment or engineering (mechanical or electrical)
  • In-depth understanding and track record of delivering operational processes that drive safety, quality, cost improvements
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, Process Improvement, and Process Control
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s)
  • Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly
  • Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day
  • Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights or on elevated platforms
  • Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat)
  • Established dexterity so you can handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precision
  • Some roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the beverage industry.

Level: 7
At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $60,000 and $100,000 However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
