Job Title: Quality Improvement Administrator
Department: Kids First
Classification: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $32.96/hour - $37.08/hour
[Salary Range: $32.96/hour - $49.44/hour]

Position Summary: Provides certified assessments, coaching, training and coordinates professional development opportunities for directors and early childhood education staff, consistent with the organization's values and mission statement.

Supervision Exercised and Received: Position works under the general supervision of the Kids First Co-Manager of Programming.

Essential Job Functions:

Assessment and Coaching

  • The coach supports early education programs and families in the community by building strong relationships with the program directors, staff and families, and establishing and maintaining connections and systems that actively promote quality improvement.
  • The major purpose of this position is to teach early childhood executive directors and staff essential skills to provide a quality experience for young children and for those skills to increase teacher job satisfaction.
  • The Coach will develop a learning-focused relationship with assigned directors and early childhood education staff to improve program outcomes by promoting program quality through:
    - Individual or group consulting, collaborating, and coaching, and group training.
    - Focused childcare leadership and business management coaching for childcare directors.
    - Using current research-based information on instructional leadership and early childhood instructional practices,
    - Using a Continuous Quality Improvement process to assist the providers in developing, implementing, and tracking progress on a detailed Quality Improvement Plan based on a program's Colorado Shines Rating and/or other program data.
  • Uses research based, valid, and reliable quality assessment tools to identify program strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Analyzes assessment report data and acts as a coach with directors and educators to create their individual and program wide quality improvement plans.
  • Disseminates information on professional development opportunities to early childhood educators.

Training

  • Completes and maintains all required trainings to maintain Early Childhood Teacher Credential 2.0 and Colorado Coaching Credential within designated timeframe. Co-creates and follows professional development plan to maintain credentials. Supports the training and mentoring of the Intern.
  • Provides training in quality assessment tools used by early childhood education program site coaches. Plans and delivers professional development trainings when needed.
  • Coaches licensed childcare classrooms to implement quality improvement (based on Colorado Shines, NAEYC Accreditation, and other quality improvement plans).
  • Disseminates training information and promotes Kids First services and programs.

Administrative

  • Helps maintain, promote, and provide access to childcare resources through Kids First.
  • Maintains accurate records that indicate success of specific programs. Coordinates early childhood education program assessment and quality improvement programming.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field.

Experience:

  • Two years of increasingly responsible experience in Early Childhood teaching, directing or program development, implementation, and evaluation.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Email). Must have a basic understanding of computers and online computer-based technology applications, which includes accessing web-based platforms.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Must hold current certifications in CPR, First Aid, standard precautions within 60 days of start date.
  • Must possess or be capable of earning within a designated period some of the following qualifications to be co-determined by employee and supervisor:
    - EQIT Trainer certificate
    - Pyramid Plus Coaching credential
    - ECERS and ITERS certifications, DECA training
    - CLASS coaching credential for preschool, toddlers, infants
    - Must meet the state requirements for a coaching credential within one year of start date.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date.

Preferred Candidate: Current CPR-First Aid. Director Qualified by Colorado Division of Childcare. Fluent in Spanish.

NOTE: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required abilities, knowledge, and skills as determined by the City of Aspen may be substituted for the requirements above.

NOTE: This position requires a Criminal Background Check upon hire. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.

Position Type and Work Hours:
*Regular full time, hours may vary with workload.
*Evenings/Weekends may occasionally be required depending on department needs and special projects.
