About the Position Responsible for providing oversight and guidance to Vaccine for Children providers. Work in collaboration with vaccine providers to ensure vaccines are stored, administered and accounted for following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance. This position will work closely with Maricopa County Immunization staff and medical providers and their staff by providing education, support ensure the VFC vaccine program is implemented within the VFC Operations Guides policies and procedures. We Require
- Three years of experience in operations and administration within customer, client, or patient service environments
- High School Diploma or GED
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
- Associate's degree in communication, customer service, education, public administration or a related field of study
- Has experience with the Arizona State Immunization Information System (ASIIS)
- Experience with vaccine storage and handling
Job Contributions
- Conduct compliance visits to VFC providers once every 24 months. Document visits in the CDC-supplied data collection tool. Collaborate with providers to resolve any issues identified
- Implement the Immunization Quality Improvement Program with identified providers. Work with providers during the 12-month process to increase on-time immunizations
- Provide specialized assistance and address any issues/concerns that are elevated by the Community Service Representatives- VFC Provider Support
- Conduct unannounced vaccine storage and handling visits to 5% of enrolled providers
- Recruit and provide on-site training to new VFC providers. Provide training on the VFC operations guide and CDC requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
- Must secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and complete and pass a background check
- Employee must have reliable transportation, may have to travel to another location if coverage is needed
- Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
- Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree
- Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
