*Position is a6 MONTHTEMPORARY EXEMPT, thereforeonly current scheduled applicants will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 6 Month temporary exempt position to support the Employee Services team.
  • Administration of FMLA and MLOA Leave, including reviewing supporting documentation, interpretation of BNSF policy and Federal Regulations, and supporting Labor relations by providing appropriate guidance.
  • Updates to databases based on reports received periodically
  • Respond to emails and voice mail messages from employees, retirees, and others outside the company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of working experience in a customer servicetype role.
  • Superior customer service skills in responding to inquiries from all levels of employees and customers.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent personal organization, planning and time management.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience/knowledge in FMLA/MLOA or human resources-type role.

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC): Federal authority requires BNSF employees, whose work requires unescorted access to secure areas of port facilities, to obtain a TWIC. A TWIC is a condition of employment for such positions and requires candidates to those positions to submit to a TSA security assessment (to include, but not limited to, providing: biographic information; identity documents; fingerprints; digital photograph).
