We are currently looking to add to our Nashville, TN office an Environmental Scientist or Field Technician to perform asbestos surveys, asbestos abatement air monitoring, lead-based paint assessments, indoor air quality monitoring, hazardous materials surveys, soil and water sampling, contractor management, and report preparation. This person will provide support to clients and project managers on various projects, and be responsible for collecting samples, analyzing data, preparing data tables and figures, and preparing written work products for review by senior staff. Travel is expected, mostly within Tennessee.

What We Are Looking for

We're looking for a motivated environmental professional to join our Nashville team supporting diverse field and compliance projects. You'll assist with asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, indoor air quality monitoring, hazardous materials assessments, and environmental sampling. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, collaborative, and ready to learn. Prior asbestos certifications are preferred, but training could be provided.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintain certifications for asbestos surveys, and asbestos abatement monitoring.
  • Assist with building surveys and collect samples of asbestos, lead and PCBs.
  • Perform indoor air surveys utilizing field equipment and specialty monitoring equipment.
  • Assist with groundwater, surface water, tap water, and soil sampling projects.
  • Review laboratory data, prepare data tables, and assist with report preparation.
  • Some work will involve sampling or inspection from elevated surfaces and use of a ladder.
  • Perform monitoring and sampling equipment maintenance and calibration.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field
    (Relevant field experience and certifications may substitute for a degree)
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass FBI background check and drug screening
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions and travel as needed
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work on elevated surfaces
  • Ability to obtain and maintain asbestos and lead-based paint certifications (preferred if already held)
  • Ideally, you'll also have...
  • Experience with asbestos surveys, lead paint inspections, or environmental sampling
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations
  • Strong technical writing and data management skills

Candidates must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods. They must also be able to meet the physical demands associated with performing field work, including climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, working in a standing position for extended periods of time, working alone at remote sites, etc.
