Job Title: Buying Professional 2 Location(s): Palo Alto, CA Position Overview: We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Palo Alto. This role is a backfill for a full-time employee and will focus on supporting purchase order management, supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong SAP experience, vendor management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including SQEs and quality. Key Responsibilities Process purchase requests in SAP, ensuring all required information is included (e.g., Commodity Code, INCOTERMS). Analyze material availability and manage purchase orders, including tracking, content validation, and ensuring cost-efficient, on-time supply of materials. Ensure compliance with procurement rules, preferred suppliers, and competitive contract terms. Maintain and update supplier master data (as needed) in SAP; archive documents per regulations to keep databases accurate. Contribute to cost savings initiatives and provide transparency on results. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share procurement-related updates to support project and supply chain efficiency. Forward updated contractual and supplier management information to relevant stakeholders. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree (field open). ~4 years of procurement/supply chain experience (Level 2 role). SAP experience (mandatory). Understanding of purchase order (PO) processes. Vendor/supplier relationship management. Experience working with Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) and quality teams. Preferred: Strong professional communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.). Familiarity with shared drives. Flexibility for early morning meetings (e.g., 6 AM global calls). Ampcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
