Reimagine What's Possible Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineering Team Lead in the Standard Plant Solutions organization.
This individual will be a working manager, leading a small team of Electrical Engineers located in the US and India who support product development and project execution activities for Company owned (SOG) and Customer owned (SOE) projects throughout the globe. Plant types include Cryogenic and Pressure Swing Adsorption N2 Generators, Vacuum Swing Adsorption O2 generators, Steam Methane Reformer and Electrolysis H2 Generators, and Hydrogen for Mobility Fueling Infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Lead the electrical scope of product development across regions with an awareness of differences in regional codes. Champion work practice documentation and standardization across products and regions. Ensure adherence to AP internal and project installation regional standards when specifying equipment Perform Electrical engineering power systems analysis calculations including, transient motor starting, short circuit, arc flash and load flow. Program protective relays with settings developed in systems analysis Coordination with customer to update power system information for new plants. Specifying and purchasing key electrical equipment such as medium and low voltage switchgear and motor control centers, motors, transformers, and VFD's.
Responsibilities include writing purchase specifications, evaluating quotations, performing technical bid evaluations, vendor document review, and factory acceptance testing.
Provide start-up and commissioning support for electrical distribution equipment and motors. Support training, coaching, and mentoring of engineers, field technicians, and commissioning staff in safety and operation of electrical systems. Work collaboratively with other disciplines towards the successful completion of projects and product development Evaluate vendor package equipment such as Main air compressor packages and electrolyzer packages for adherence to AP standards and regional codes.
Qualifications:
BS Electrical Engineering Degree is a minimum Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience Experience in design and operation of industrial plants is required. Experience with SKM Power Tools for Windows engineering software Experience in other software modeling packages such as ETAP will be considered Working knowledge of SEL protective relays Experience specifying and working on transformers, MV and LV Motors, Motor control centers, and Variable frequency drives Ability to travel 5-10%, primarily in North America Working understanding of Electrically classified Hazardous areas including the installation and protection methods related to them. Computer literate and experienced in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and other standard business application Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work with the appropriate level of supervision and accept a high degree of personal responsibility for results.
