Job Details:
Mercer University is searching for a Financial Aid Counselor on the Atlanta, Georgia or the Macon, Georgia campus.

Responsibilities:

The purpose of this position is to provide excellence in service to new and returning students regarding all financial aid processes. Responsibilities include all regulatory compliance when administering federal state and institutional financial aid within the guidelines of each program with a proficiency and accuracy that meets department needs. Collaboration and building good working relationships with Admissions, Bursar, and other related departments will be an essential component to this position. Conducting financial literacy training and counseling for assigned student populations to include Satisfactory Academic Progress Loan Entrance and Exit Counseling Professional Judgement and other related needs. This position will perform other duties as assigned to include administrative functions and financial aid presentations.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and one year of related experience to include accounting/finance, computer technology/software, and customer service are required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with students, parents and internal customers
  • Multi-tasked and detail oriented to perform varied duties under strict time constraints
  • Able to work well under pressure, in a team environment and with a diverse population to provide excellent service
  • Ability to prioritize work flow and work with many interruptions.
