$22.05 to $24.26 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Merritt Island/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Performs skilled service work supervising the County's landscaping and beautification projects. The employee supervises the landscaping crews in all phases of the development and maintenance of landscaping ensuring that road right-of-way vegetation management is performed to the highest standards. Worksclosely with multiple mowing and landscape contractors to coordinate, inspect, and monitor their work, as well as documenting and reporting any deficiencies, safety violations, or contract compliance issues related to the contractors.



REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in landscaping installation and construction, which included the operation of landscaping equipment. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, a Public Pesticide Applicator License issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist is preferred. This is heavy physical work that exposes individuals to extreme weather conditions, dust, dirt, hazardous materials and chemicals, moving machinery, and traffic. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
