*Description*
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented *Mainframe Computer Operator* for a role based in Madison, WI. This role is responsible for monitoring and managing batch job processing on the Company mainframe system. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MVS/OS/390 environments, job scheduling tools (preferably Control-M), and JCL troubleshooting. This position serves as a critical liaison between technical developers and production support teams, ensuring smooth operations across both mainframe and client-server environments. *Key Responsibilities:* * Monitor and analyze complex job flows across mainframe and client-server systems. * Identify and resolve job abends, including basic JCL review and modification. * Submit and schedule jobs per developer and customer requests. * Collaborate with Development, TSS, and CPS staff to resolve issues and ensure job integrity. * Work across multiple environments (Acceptance & Production) to support operational needs. * Document issues and resolutions using Tivoli and maintain accurate logs. * Update and maintain job documentation and operational procedures. * Perform functional testing and QA checks to ensure compliance with DWD standards. * Create and manage ChangeMan packages for mainframe deployments. *Required Skills & Qualifications:* * 2+ years of experience as a Mainframe Computer Operator in an MVS/OS/390 environment. * Proficiency in job scheduling tools (preferably Control-M). * Working knowledge of JCL, with ability to read and troubleshoot code. * Familiarity with tools such as CICS, TSO, SDSF, Tivoli, ChangeMan, IDMS, DB2, VSAM. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * High level of dependability and attention to detail. * Enthusiastic, positive attitude with a desire to learn all aspects of CPS production operations. * Ability to maintain best practices in AJS and perform QA checks on new jobs. *Technical Environment:* * *Mainframe & LAN Software:* * CICS, TSO, SDSF, Tivoli, ChangeMan, Argent (AJS), HODv10 * *Programming & Data Tools:* * JCL, IDMS, DB2, VSAM *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
