SP Industries Inc. has an opening for aMaterial Expediter / Handler to join the team! In this role, the right candidate will be responsible forensuring that production operators have the materials, tools and supplies they need to maintain continuous workflow. This role supports efficiency on the production floor by anticipating needs, delivering parts, removing waste, and expediting materials to minimize downtime. This is a first shift position with hours of Monday thru Friday 7am to 3:30pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver raw materials, components, and tools to production workstations as needed.
- Validate materials kits against BOM and organize materials in preparation for assembly.
- Monitor production for materials needs and provide materials handling support.
- Expedite critical or delayed materials through the production process.
- Remove scrap, corrugated, and empty containers to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Maintain internal kanban system to ensure proper work in process and sub assembly levels to support production
- Support Lean Manufacturing practices by reducing waste and improving workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and shortages, ensure proper transactions for materials movements within the plant
- Assist with cycle counting, inventory tracking, and staging of materials as directed. Follow all safety and quality procedures while performing job duties.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in manufacturing,warehousing, or material handling preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required (typically up to 50 lbs.)
- Fortlift certification (or willingness to obtain) may be required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Salary range: $20/hr- $25/hr
