THE POSITION

We are on the lookout for a motivated and reliable Corrections Stock Clerk to help ensure smooth and efficient operations in our storeroom. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Stock Clerk with the Department of Corrections, your role will involve managing the receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory control of various stock items and supplies within your designated institution. You will oversee the inventory process, ensuring that supplies and raw materials are received, stored, and issued appropriately. Additionally, you will be responsible for training and supervising inmate workers in these activities, in addition to ensuring care, custody, and control of inmate work crew. Your duties will also include preparing regular reports and operating equipment such as motor vehicles, forklifts, or hand trucks to transport heavy items, dispose of scrap materials, or facilitate deliveries.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
