DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Assistant, you will use knowledge and understanding of advanced bookkeeping procedures and accounting principles to provide guardianship services to incapacitated clients at the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) and Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) facilities. You will use a variety of tools such as the Guardian Accounting Program (GAP) and Client Account Withdrawal Orders (CAWO) system to create and update accounts, track disbursements, and issue checks. You will also provide fiscal management and any support necessary to efficiently and effectively meet the fiscal management and personal needs of the clients. This work requires conformance with established Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as the ability to organize and prioritize designated duties. In addition, you will post all approved fiscal activity and vendor disbursements, reconcile receipts, prepare and verify bank deposits, and maintain a petty cash fund. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to one day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wernersville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
