This position is responsible for supporting McLane personnel in each of the distribution centers, and South Campus Category Management Team, through the replication and development of planograms, and achieving the appropriate item mix to grow our retail customers' business, through the extraction of an analysis necessary to make category decisions.

What you'll do as a Sr Merchandising Analyst:

  • Extract, scrub, and analyze sales data for consideration of planogram placement to ensure best target mix recommendations for lab store review process.
  • Provide data based planogram recommendations to division personnel upon request for execution in the field.
  • Train new analysts to develop an in-depth understanding of the planogram software and decision-making processes, including product selection and merchandising.
  • Support field based planogram development by assisting teammates to decrease turn around time.
  • Oversee the completion of planogram work requested to meet established lead time for projects.
  • Complete priority requests within a lead-time designated, based on the attributes and specifics of the project.
  • Interact with division personnel, host account managers, category managers, Retail Services department teammates, Merchandising Category Management team, manufacturers, brokers, as well as working directly with the customer on occasion.
  • Meet the goals of the department set forth by the manager.
  • Assist with the planning, directing and coordinating lab store effort and work with customers on in depth category reviews.
  • Implement procedures and policies and ensure they are followed properly as per the company policy.
  • Work closely with the Merchandising Category Management Team in developing national, regional, and customer specific planogram recommendations.
  • Assist in the management of ancillary responsibilities, including data mining, reset billing, and billable services.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Sr Merchandising Analyst:

  • Three years experience in merchandising and data analysis experience are desirable.
  • Significant analytical experience and computer proficiency with programs like MS Excel and/or Access are essential.
  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills are also necessary.
  • Organization, creative problem-solving, and a continuous improvement mentality are key qualities for success in this career.
  • A bachelor's degree in business or related field is required with a combination of retail, buying, and allocation experience preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
