You will be the last line of defense, making sure that every roller coaster, Ferris wheel, and carousel operates flawlessly so that families and friends can create lasting, joyful memories. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will act as the main point of contact responsible for ensuring the quality of Amusement Ride Safety Inspections across the Commonwealth, thereby fostering a secure environment for amusement attractions. Your responsibilities will encompass performing thorough inspections at various venues, including amusement parks, carnivals, fairs, and other operations involving amusement rides. Additionally, you will investigate accidents and incidents to ascertain their causes, while also interpreting and clarifying the relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for both industry professionals and the general public. This role is crucial in maintaining safety standards and promoting public confidence in amusement attractions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position will be Home HQ: Indiana, Westmoreland, Cambria, Somerset, Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon, Armstrong, Clearfield, Cumberland and Franklin County
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Safety Inspector Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience inspecting commercial, industrial, healthcare or other buildings or structures, machines, apparatus, devices or equipment for compliance with applicable safety codes and regulations; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

Post Employment Requirement:
  • You must obtain a Class 2 PA Amusement Ride Inspector Certification within 30 days of employment which must be maintained throughout employment.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Professional electrical/mechanical training or experience with amusement rides or attractions.
