Overview
Milton CAT is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Product Support to lead our Product Support Sales team across Earthmoving, Power Systems, and Inside Sales. This role is pivotal in driving aftermarket growth, aligning with Caterpillar's initiatives, and delivering exceptional value to our customers throughout Milton CAT's territory. Pay Range: $190,000-$215,000 based on experience The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of sales strategy, customer engagement, business acumen, revenue generation (closing business) and cross-functional collaboration. This role requires a strong ability to translate strategic goals into actionable plans that drive performance, foster innovation, and strengthen our competitive position in the market.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Define and execute sales strategies that align with Caterpillar's aftermarket growth initiatives and support Milton CAT's Parts and Service operational objectives.
- Market Development: Identify gaps in current sales and solution offerings across customer segments; collaborate with internal departments to develop and launch targeted go-to-market strategies.
- Team Culture & Collaboration: Build a high-performance culture that promotes cross-departmental collaboration, healthy competition, and a relentless drive to win.
- Performance Management: Deliver regular performance updates to senior leadership, highlighting growth drivers, tactical initiatives, and corrective actions for underperformance.
- Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-impact sales team, ensuring the right skills, mindset, and career development opportunities are in place.
- Data-Driven Insights: Engage routinely with Caterpillar to analyze sales and marketing data, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Sales Enablement: Ensure robust training, governance, and oversight to support a high-performing sales culture, leveraging Microsoft CE for optimized sales funnel management and CRM strategy.
- Leading a business of reasonable size (>$20M) with some P&L/budget level responsibilities.
- Customer facing experience willingness and ability to work directly with customers on all aspects of business and services opportunities.
- Drive the use of digital tools (dispatching, CRM, Microsoft dynamics, etc.) to drive efficiency and scalability into the organization.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in sales and/or product support, with a track record of leading teams and driving results.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with P&L management, marketing strategy, and competitive intelligence. (budget management)
- Customer-facing experience in sales or product support, with a deep understanding of customer needs and operational environments.
- Proficiency in Power BI and CRM platform for sales funnel management and performance analytics.
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving. (Ability to make decisions and willingness to take action, making decisions independently.)
- Technical aptitude and willingness to learn Milton CAT's product portfolio and customer applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced certifications preferred.
