Job Overview

Join Hubbell as a Director, Operations at our facility in Leeds, AL. In this role you will provide leadership and is responsible for all aspects of the operation; personnel, productivity, on-time delivery performance, cost, and budgeting/forecasting. In addition you will manage and develop a team in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to process improvements in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery performance, utilizing business practices/processes to include 5S, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. You will Deploy company and factory policies and strategies to staff throughout the manufacturing operation and translate them into business, team and personnel goals. This role is an onsite postion.

A Day In The Life

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop and implement long-term operational strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives and goals.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of various departments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the organization.
  • Analyze and improve business processes, workflow, and production methods to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee budgets, monitor financial performance, and make data-driven decisions to promote profitability.
  • Lead, guide, and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and performance in line with organizational strategies.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards and procedures to ensure product and service excellence.
  • Oversee inventory and ensure timely delivery of raw materials or goods from vendors.
  • Identify potential operational challenges and implement plans to mitigate them.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and progress toward goals.
  • Manage and direct overall manufacturing activities of the Business Unit, at multiple locations
  • Maintains a safe working environment consistent with all local, state and OSHA requirements.
  • Originates, measures, and improves key indicators for the business unit (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost).
  • Ensure the quality systems are established and maintained.
  • Continues to enhance the LEAN culture. Ensures the production area maintains a clean, well-organized environment through "continuous improvement" and 5S. Implements and drives "continuous improvement" activities by eliminating non valued added activities in the manufacturing process (waste elimination).
  • Establishes work requirements and ensures production schedules are met.
  • Develop Staff and a culture within the business unit dedicated to the highest levels of quality and customer service

  • The ability to see the big picture and formulate effective long-term plans.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost optimization.
  • The ability to effectively lead teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and relay information to senior management.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience in streamlining workflows and managing projects to achieve business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree: MBA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

PREFERRED:



  • Experience as a Plant Manager, Director of Operations or Operations Manager - preferably in a medium to heavy manufacturing environment and prefer low volume/high mix environment
  • Foundry, Welding, Fabricating, Warehouse & Logistics experience
  • SAP experience
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Operational Excellence or Lean Certification
  • TPM Experience


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel on business-related trips; ability to move to various locations within the Company; ability to communicate; ability to work on a personal computer and other related equipment as required
