Family Intake Therapist

Summary:

The Family Intake Therapist will provide intake assessments in the Emergency Department and over the phone to determine the appropriate level of care and treatment. Will conduct family assessments, provide case management, family therapy, crisis intervention, and telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients. Will participate in group therapy, multi-disciplinary treatment, diagnostic conferences, and diagnostic interviews. Manages patients' mental health benefits and keeps informed of all information regarding the patient's treatment and their payor. Available for Intake on-call on an needed basis.

Required Education & Experience:

• Master's in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.

• Child growth and development education.

• Experience providing family therapy/intervention.

• Previous experience in a Hospital (preferred).

• Pediatric experience (preferred).

• Experience with inpatient, PHP and or intake (preferred)

• Experience providing behavioral health (preferred)

Required Certification/Licensure:

• Licensed by State of Texas: LCSW or LPC

• CPR Heartsaver within 60 days of start date

• CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date

• Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health
