A Brief Overview

We're looking for a thoughtful and strategic leader to guide our organization's precertification and patient authorization processes. In this role, you'll help shape the future of our Financial Clearance operations-redesigning workflows, setting clear standards, building effective training programs, and developing meaningful performance metrics. You'll work closely with teams across Scheduling, Registration, and Information Services to ensure our processes are efficient, patient-centered, and aligned with our mission.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of EPIC, strong data analysis and reporting experience, experience leading large-scale process improvements, and a collaborative, people-first leadership style. A background in academic medical centers is a plus, as is a passion for building strong teams and driving positive change. Logistics: This is a remote position within the Tri-State area of Pennsylvania, with an onsite requirement for meetings scheduled with advance notice. You'll be leading a team of 150+ dedicated professionals.

What you will do

  • Position is responsible for all aspects of precertification and patient authorization processes across the organization. This includes establishment and maintenance of financial clearance workflows, documentation standards, training, technology integration, expectation setting and accountability.
  • This position will lead the redesign, expansion, key performance indicator creation and future development of the Financial Clearance organization. It will set strategic direction including the ability to attract, motivate and retain a high performing team as well as ensure processes drive maximum efficiency.
  • The position requires an excellent understanding of EPIC, large scale process redesign and the importance of cross functional interdependencies. It involves close collaboration with the Scheduling and Registration department and Information Services as well as experience working as part of a large academic medical center.
  • The role requires a collaborative working style with experience influencing people through vision and compelling logic and a successful track record of leadership and redesign of complex organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills are required and comfort working within a fast-moving and evolving environment.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • Master's Degree Business Administration - Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least seven (7) years experience Patient Access, Patient Financial Clearance, Health Coverage/Pre-Certification, Medical Coding, EPIC - Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of academic hospital and physician financial services (Required proficiency)

$100,000.00 - $375,000.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
