Guard II

The Guard II enforces regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security, exercises judgment and uses discretion in responding to incidents and emergencies, determining whether to intervene directly, ask for assistance as time permits, keep situation under control or surveillance, or to report incident or situation to the appropriate authority for handling. Duties require specialized training in methods and techniques of protecting controlled areas. This requires interaction with customers, car carriers and container drivers, to monitor security/movement or after hour deliveries.

• Makes complete patrol and visible check of the entire grounds, including but not limited to garage areas, offices, fence line and container yard, and documents report in the shift log book.
• Ensures security log book is current with reports/entries by all guards accurately recorded.
• Unlocks all facility entrances in preparation for customers and employee entries.
• Monitors and logs in and out all persons entering and leaving the VPC site.
• Directs POV parking on premises for all customers, trucks, and containers.
• Directs car carriers and container drivers to the office.
• Monitors the safe loading and unloading of POVs by truck and container drivers.
• Greets all VPC customers, family members and/or designated representatives and provides excellent customer service in a friendly, stress free atmosphere.
• Verifies fuel level of all POVs and ensures level is no more than tank or less.
• Ensures standard brakes and parking/emergency brakes of each POV is 100% functional to ship/store POV.
• Ensures POV is free of all dirt, soil and any other debris and that the entire interior is thoroughly vacuumed.
• Inspects the exterior of the POV to ensure cleanliness requirements.
• For POV shipping or storage, verifies that locking lug nuts and keys are secured with the POV.
• Visually confirms there are no cracks in the windshield.
• Visual inspection of exterior of POV to ensure no leaks or dripping liquids.
• Verifies and documents mileage of POV.
• Responds to customer's questions about POV shipping, storage, or pick up.
• Provides customer with directions and locations for the nearest de-gassing, service stations and restaurants.
• Documents electronic equipment of POV is mounted or un-mounted.
• Measures POV to ensure 20 measurement tons or less requirement is met.
• Assists the Project Manager (PM) in the training of all new security guards regarding the security protocols.
• May assist the PM in the supervision of Guard I employees.
• May assist the PM in the recommendation, development, implementation and enforcement of improvements to security systems and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for fostering a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
• Responsible for appropriate conduct and/or demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy and procedure.
• Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.
• Completes and maintains all required Didlake trainings.
• Other duties as assigned and/or specified in Statement of Work.
