Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire an Assistant Director.

Responsiblities:

Advises the Freshman Leadership Program, a highly competitive living, learning community, coordinates the Student Organization Review Committee and annual club registration process on all campuses (Omaha, Phoenix, regional). Develops and implements leadership development programs and resources for our student community including but not limited to Clifton Strengths programming, leadership workshops, and peer leadership initiatives. Supervises a small student leadership intern team that develops ongoing leadership development programs, retreats for campus, and assists with larger SLIC programs such as Skutt Shutdown, Winter Wonderland, etc.

Will work some night and weekends as needed for special events.

  • Oversee and advise student organizations and management of their budget
  • Preside over the implementation and management of events
  • Coordinate and implement leadership development programming for undergraduate students
  • Lead student club petition, application and registration process for the university and implements various office functions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required (Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling or a related field preferred).
  • Experience in student affairs preferred.
  • NASPA or ACPA affiliation preferred.
  • An understanding of the value of holistic student development and of the motivations of students who participate in co-curricular learning experiences is needed as well as an understanding of and the ability to apply student development and learning outcomes theories.
  • An understanding of Clifton Strengths a plus.
  • Must have the ability to sustain communication with diverse groups, anticipate problems, reconcile conflicts, and maintain a strong philosophical base for student activities and have an appreciation of the Ignatian tradition.
