Position Summary

The Manager, Distribution Sales, is responsible for managing and expanding relationships with wholesale distributors and dealer networks within the firearms industry. This role focuses on executing the company's channel sales strategy, supporting revenue growth, ensuring product availability, and strengthening partner relationships across assigned territories.

*** Candidates are required to either currently reside in or be open to relocating to an area that is within eight hours of Columbia, SC, and also within one hour of a major airport. ***

Job Duties

  • Manage and grow sales through key distribution partners, dealer accounts, and buying groups.
  • Implement sales strategies and execute profitable distribution growth plans to achieve quarterly and annual sales, margin, and revenue targets in alignment with company objectives.
  • Influence key stakeholders, negotiate contracts, and close high-value sales agreements.
  • Build, manage, and expand relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners ensuring optimal service levels, pricing alignment, and promotional support.
  • Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and order patterns to forecast demand and optimize product placement.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with distribution partners to assess performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate with marketing to drive co-branded promotions, merchandising programs, and digital campaigns.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, distributor events, and dealer training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales data in CRM systems and generate performance reports.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, customer service, compliance, and product teams to resolve issues and support fulfillment.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and mentor a high performing team to achieve success.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field required.

Experience Requirements

At least five years of sales experience in the firearms, tactical gear, or outdoor sporting goods industry is required to include previous experience with firearms distribution channels, including 2-step and 3-step sales models and with MAP pricing policies and dealer compliance enforcement.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and drive profitable sales growth in the firearms market.
  • Knowledge of and compliant with all federal, state, and local firearms laws, including export regulations (e.g., ITAR).
  • Must be legally permitted to handle and transport firearms.
  • Working knowledge of ATF, FFL, and other regulatory requirements related to firearms sales and distribution.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop and guide teams toward achieving organizational goals.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Excel for forecasting, reporting, and account management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Tools

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP
  • Proficient in CRM systems (Sales Force)

Working Conditions
