Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief People Officer is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, strategic planning and management of the human resources function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:



  1. Maintain and lead organization's compliance with all existing governmental and labor legislation and ensure organization's reporting requirements of all personnel matters.
  2. Annually review and make recommendations to management for improvement of policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters; updating Employee Handbook and Operations Manual as applicable.
  3. Communicate with employees regarding personnel policies, procedures and benefit programs.
  4. Direct employee performance evaluation program including job descriptions and market-driven wage details. Promote the opportunity for a formal discussion by employees and their supervisors to review overall work performance, objectives, and career development.
  5. Recommend, evaluate and participate in development of the organization including team growth, succession planning and leadership needs.
  6. Recruit qualified candidates following current EEO and ADA hiring guidelines for exempt and non-exempt positions utilizing available resources to maintain an effective work force.
  7. Develop, implement and manage benefit programs in consultation with senior management to provide company with appropriate cost effective insurance coverage.
  8. Consult with legal counsel as appropriate on personnel matters; represent the organization for any People Department legal proceedings.
  9. Develop and maintain a people department information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs.
  10. Coordinate activities and participate on committees and special projects regarding King Kulture and Servant Leadership.
  11. Develop, implement and maintain the employee lifecycle utilizing the KA Eight Steps of Talent Management.
  12. Manage off-boarding activities including exit interviews, benefit notifications and other termination-required activities.
  13. Conduct and/or oversee all employee-related investigations including accident and performance. Ensure submission of required safety and workers compensation reports.
  14. Create and report Key Performance Indicators for the People Department.
  15. Communicate with management regularly regarding challenges, opportunities, policy gaps, employee concerns and engagement ideas.
  16. Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree or 10 or more years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certificate is required.
  • HRIS experience and able to advise on rollout and integration of new systems.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provide direction on HR matters to all KA management and employees.
  • Leadership and mentoring responsibilities required throughout the organization.
