Overview

As part of Carle Health's commitment to creating a practice that supports APPs, we are pleased to share the recruitment of a total of 5 - Director of APP Roles that will provide system-based practice support to our APPs.

  • Director of APPs - Primary Care & Women's Health (0.4 FTE admin)
  • Director of APPs - Hospital Services (0.4 FTE admin)
  • Director of APPs - Medical Specialties (0.4 FTE admin)
  • Director of APPs - Surgical Specialties (0.4 FTE admin)

The Director of APP roles will report directly to the Vice President of Advanced Practice Providers at Carle Health. This role will collaborate with operational and physician leaders to support APP practice. This role will have dotted line oversight to current APP Leads and APP Supervisors.


Opportunity Details

Job Description:

System support for APPs in their service lines through partnership with operational and physician leaders.

APP Directors will each focus on the following areas in addition to serving as the primary escalation point for APP-related needs within their clinical service lines:

    • Participation in the vision for Carle Health Medical Group related to APP Practice
    • Partner with the Physician Collaboration Model and considerations for potential independent practice
    • Care Model Design and Utilization Innovation
    • Recruitment and Onboarding
    • Professional Development and Engagement

Role Expectations:

  • Establishes, implements, and evaluates program goals and outcomes in alignment with the Carle Health mission, vision, and strategic plan.
  • Provides leadership support regarding accreditation & regulatory activities including safety and quality initiatives as it relates to the APP practice.
  • In collaboration with the Vice President, provides administrative oversight to assigned APP groups to ensure consistent clinical practice principles are upheld for the individual practice groups.
  • Supports the operations of the APP privileging and credentialing process.
  • Support teams hiring process and evaluation process.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of innovative and new models of care as they pertain to the APP role.
  • Collaborates to achieve quality outcomes and targets for APP Practice.
  • Review of written policies and procedures related to APP Practice.
  • Fosters and operationalizes educational programs as necessary to ensure clinical and quality outcomes.
  • Cultivates a culture that promotes professional growth, interdisciplinary collaboration, constructive communication, flexibility, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Serves as a leader of APP clinical and professional development efforts.
  • Actively participates in APP employee engagement efforts.
  • Maintains active licensure, certifications, clinical competencies, skills, educational and regulatory requirements of the role.
  • Actively participates in professional organizations.
  • Models the mission, vision, and values of Carle Health.
  • Consistently displays and holds others accountable for displaying the Carle Health behavioral standards.
  • Displays a commitment to the development of a culture of inclusion throughout all aspects of the organization.
  • Serves as a role model and resource for professional colleagues.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment for all APPs.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois State Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • 5 or more years of APP clinical practice
  • Experience in APP leadership preferred
  • Significant knowledge of hospital and ambulatory policies, systems, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of clinical and educational standards and best practices.
  • Ability to lead teams required.
  • Analytical ability required.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as advanced organizational skills required.
  • The ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with executive and university leaders inside and outside the organization preferred.
  • Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple projects, prioritizing workload to maximize efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced information systems and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
  • Evidence of maintaining excellent Carle behavior standards and customer service as measured by Annual Evaluations, Referral from current clinical leadership - physician and operational, Health Grade scores, Way to Be, Gold Stars, and/or other recognition
  • No disciplinary action in the past 24 months

Compensation:

  • The range of $68.22 - $91.55/hour is the rate for the administrative portion of these roles (0.4 FTE)
  • Yearly bonus potential at Director Level for the administrative percentage of the role pending achievement of system goals
  • Regional adjustments would be not applicable due to system-based positions

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $68.22 - $91.55/hour (Range dependent on APPs clinical experience and years of service). This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
