Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator Supervisor and/or Controller, the Accounting Administrator will perform accounting activities to ensure compliance with IFRS, corporate policies and external auditors. Performs duties in a timely manner. They possess strong organizational skills to maintain an efficient work environment as well as collaborate with team members and perform other adhoc duties as required/needed. The Accountant will have an active role in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, monthly closing, journal entries and account analysis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable:


    • Collaborate effectively with vendors/suppliers and internal customers (i.e. procurement, purchasing and receiving)
    • Process A/P invoices, verifying proper approval and support document, assigning proper G/L coding, review and validation of compliance to the corporate policies.
    • Resolve invoice holds and aged disbursements by following through with internal and external customers. Ensure supplier credits are received, also with appropriate resolution and follow up, for outstanding debit notes.
    • Vouch invoices in accordance with a 3 way match process


  • Accounts Receivable:


    • Build good working relationship and collaborate effectively with customers and commercial/program team.
    • Manage A/R Aging to ensure collections are done timely to maintain current standing.
    • Complete daily invoicing
    • Resolve any billing disputes by working with customer and commercial/program team.


  • Monthly Close / Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and post journal entries
    • Prepare account reconciliations
    • Identify and resolve financial accounting issues.


  • Audits: Assist with external and internal audits / reviews. Complete requested materials timely.


    • Internal Control: Evaluate and document procedures and workflow to achieve accurate and efficient accounting systems.
    • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedure.
    • Perform other related duties as required by Accounting Administrator Supervisor and/or Controller.



Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications
* Two-year degree in accounting, or additional experience required
* 4+ years of experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable in a business environment
* Experience working with MTO or other ERP system required.
Preferred Qualifications
* GKN Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
* Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including IFRS.
* Strong analytical and accounting skills.
* Knowledge of MTO, but not necessary.
* Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office software.
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of fully integrated ERP software packages.
* Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this role is between $30.00 - $38.00 per hour.
