This is a paid internship; however, the intern must provide their own housing and transportation. Business related transportation and expenses will be paid by the organization. This intern will work full-time through the summer of 2026. The internship is located out of either our Bloomington, IL or Sun Prairie, WI office locations.

The contributions you will make:

This internship will provide hands-on experience in the internal audit field with a focus on data analytics. Ideal for juniors or non-graduating seniors in college. The intern will learn how to conduct internal audits, analyze data, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.

A typical day:



  • Engage in a dynamic learning environment, acquiring substantial knowledge throughout the internship and proactively applying this information.
  • Work independently with general supervision on day-to-day operations. Demonstrate initiative and fulfill assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Internal Audit Director, Principal Audit Practices, and other team members, as well as interact with various departments such as finance, operations, and compliance.
  • Assist in providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve internal processes.
  • Present a professional image of Compeer Financial.


The skills and experience we prefer you have:



  • Must be working towards completing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, technology or a related field, with at least two years completed preferred.
  • Interest in and knowledge of internal auditing and data analytics.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and deliver excellent client service.
  • Coursework or experience in data analytics, auditing, or financial analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency in using PowerBI, Microsoft Excel or other data analytics tools preferred.


How we will take care of you:

Actual hourly rate offered is dependent upon year in school, work experience, transferable skills, business needs and market demands. The hourly rate range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Base Pay

$19 - $22 USD
