Responsible for developing and maintaining internal relationships with Operations to support existing and future health plan clients to meet objectives under the supervision of the Strategic Client Partner. Lead role in developing and implementing strategies to ensure successful report submission and delivery execution. Ideal candidate will have two or more years' experience in account management in a managed health care environment, preferably Medicaid and Medicare Advantage, specialized in dental and/or vision. Excellent opportunity to develop within Account Management at an entry-level position, with training to prepare for future career growth. The Account Coordinator can be either an in office or remote/telecommuting position depending on location.

The Government Account Management Department is dedicated to overseeing and nurturing relationships with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and State contracts. This department plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution and management of government-related healthcare programs, with a focus on Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and other state-funded initiatives.

Our team is responsible for managing day-to-day interactions with MCOs and state agencies, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and driving strategic initiatives that align with both client and organizational goals. By closely collaborating with internal departments and external partners, we work to deliver exceptional service, support program implementation, and ensure that our solutions meet the evolving needs of the populations we serve.

Job Summary:

  • Provide administrative support to Account Executives and Strategic Client Partners, who oversee and are responsible for multiple levels account relations and engage appropriate departments for support
  • Coordinate management of internal market meetings with the Accounts Executives which include the Dental and Vision Directors, Provider Relations and all appropriate Operational Area leads which includes responsibility to run any necessary follow-up internal meetings, complete necessary meeting minutes and coordinate deliverable completion
  • Coordinate, manage, and attend account calls with the Account Executives and/or Strategic Client Partners as well as run follow-up internal meetings regarding accounts, complete necessary meeting minutes and coordinate deliverable completion
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure client requested updates are implemented and quality oversight and review of all changes are completed to client satisfaction
  • Review monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to ascertain accurate reporting, attaining corrections or clarification when necessary
  • Work closely with the Implementation department, in coordination with the Account Executives and Strategic Client Partners, to ensure the accurate execution of new business implementation as well as benefit changes, product expansion, etc.
  • Identify and communicate meaningful insights from key accounts and market changes to the Account Executives and Strategic Client Partners
  • Provide insight on areas of responsibility or engagement when Business Development is looking to grow business within assigned markets
  • Provide continuous strategic assessment regarding additional operational or account management efficiencies that can be created
  • Assume additional responsibilities, including special projects as needed or directed by the Account Executives, Strategic Client Partners, or other leadership

Demonstrates the ability to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to Account Executives and Strategic Client Partners. Manages account-related activities, including scheduling, coordinating internal and external meetings, and ensuring timely follow-up on deliverables.

Effectively communicates and collaborates with internal departments, clients, and other stakeholders. Facilitates coordination between departments to ensure client requests and updates are accurately implemented and aligned with quality standards.

Reporting and Data Accuracy:

Proficient in reviewing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure data accuracy. Identifies discrepancies and coordinates corrections or clarifications, ensuring that reporting meets client expectations and business requirements.

Implementation and Process Management:

Skilled in coordinating and managing the implementation of new business initiatives, benefit changes, and product expansions. Works closely with the Implementation department and Account Executives to ensure smooth and accurate execution of client projects.

Strategic Insight and Continuous Improvement:

Capable of identifying key insights from market changes and client interactions. Provides strategic recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and supports business development efforts by highlighting areas for growth and improvement within assigned markets.

  • Applicant must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and possess the ability to work well with others under pressure
  • Computer Skills: Proven proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
  • Knowledge: Experience in managed care or health care field, government, and commercial account management a plus. Overall account management experience considered.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A min of 2 years' experience in the insurance industry managing implementation of new business initiatives, benefit changes and product expansion in capacity as listed in the job requirements above.
  • As this role is a remote role, you are required to maintain internet service that allows you to complete your essential job duties without issue. Rates of 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload while hardwired and not on a VPN are sufficient.
  • 2 years' experience in Account Management, client services and healthcare
