Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide team leadership for the operations, maintenance, availability and sustainability of hosting platforms, networks, storage, disaster recovery plans and systems, hosted business applications and other critical IT infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a long-range plan for the constant improvement and modernization of enterprise infrastructure to include upgrades, migrations, availability/disaster recovery and new technology adoption.
  • Ensure that all IT Policies that govern IT Infrastructure and Operations are met.
  • Lead the segment infrastructure staff in the monitoring, operation, and maintenance of hosting platforms and other IT environment infrastructure.
  • Implement new technologies and methods to increase the effectiveness of users
  • Manage and provide career development support to the system administration and operations staff of 8-12 IT professionals
  • Collaborate with other team leaders to maintain a high-integrity IT environment across the division enterprise
  • Provide senior level support for incident and problem escalation and resolution
  • Establish and manage a portfolio of IT projects of varying sizes
  • Serve as the principal IT Infrastructure liaison to the corporate enterprise IT organization
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in support of IT policy and SOX compliance, IT asset management, O/S and other infrastructure license management, vendor management and change management
  • Participate in change/release management, team leadership, project management and other ITSM-related business rhythms
  • Identify and help exploit improvement opportunities

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study is preferred.
  • 8+ years in supporting IT infrastructure components and systems: servers, storage, networks, operating systems, cloud services, virtual servers.
  • 1-4 years leading an IT operations team
  • Demonstrable expertise in identifying and resolving complex IT infrastructure and operations issues
  • Excellent working knowledge of installing, configuring and maintaining a Microsoft environment (Active Directory, Windows Server, Office 365, MSSQL, etc.)
  • Good working knowledge of VMware technologies for multiple datacenters
  • Good understanding of other third-party applications for Microsoft and VMware environments
  • Good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols and applications (SNMP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • 1-4 years leading an IT operations team

  • Must have exceptional communication and people skills
  • Teamwork oriented
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate as a principal member of a multidisciplinary IT leadership team
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to achieve near 100% network and network server uptime in a 7 x 24 environment
  • Ability to perform all assigned duties, maintain presence and participation in business rhythms, supervise staff and meet business requirements regardless of work performance location
  • Travel required: up to 10%
