AI Strategy and Innovation Manager
Job Summary Please note: Onsite 3 days per week prorated to effort The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader in AI strategy and product development, with the expertise to design and deliver innovative AI-enabled solutions that advance global health research, education, and operations at IGHS. They will bring proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects and the creativity to solve complex, precedent-free challenges. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong strategic insight, the ability to build consensus across diverse stakeholders, and a passion for harnessing AI responsibly to improve health outcomes worldwide.
Uses advanced knowledge of AI product/service development practices to resolve a wide range of complex issues without precedent and / or structure. Ability to manage the development and implementation of multiple or large AI-enabled products, services, and enterprise enhancements of diverse scope, size, impact, and budget across interdepartmental collaborations. Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an indepth evaluation of variable factors aligned to global health research, education, and operations at IGHS.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $110,400 - $235,400 (Annual Rate). Department Description UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) is dedicated to improving health and reducing the burden of disease in the world's most vulnerable populations. IGHS is an interdisciplinary educational, service and research organization that harnesses UCSF's scientific strengths to train global health leaders of tomorrow and develop solutions to today's most pressing health challenges. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- 5+ years directly relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of product development concepts, practices, standards and processes
- Proven ability to identify key issues critical to the organization's long-range success of a desired product or service
- Proven ability to research, collect and analyze information to use in determining product options or alternatives
- Advanced organization and project management skills to lead large or multiple cross-functional teams
- Advanced oral communication skills to effectively present, negotiate, convey and explain information
- Advanced written communications skills to draft clear, concise documentation, reports and specifications
- Ability to lead, build consensus and promote the exchange of information among project team, internal and external constituencies
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software
