Here's what you will do:

  • Provides leadership and support of a strong safety culture.

  • Directs, organizes, and oversees pipeline maintenance activities including planned maintenance, break-in work, operational support, project support, and emergency response in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.

  • Train and mentor others to enhance their skills and knowledge, and to progressively increase their capability and productivity.

  • Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Enbridge Safety Policies and Procedures and act in accordance with them at all times.

  • Participates in the identification, planning, and overseeing the execution of maintenance related work.

  • May plan and coordinate the work of contract crews.

  • Makes responsible decisions not usually subject to technical review, on all matters assigned, except those involving significant expenditures or impact on safety or operational reliability.

  • Often responsible for ensuring adherence to preventative maintenance guidelines and completion of all pertinent records.

  • May organize and facilitate pre-job meetings, facility inspections, and focused work practice inspections.

  • Develop job hazard assessments and site-specific procedures as required.

  • May participates in Management of Change activities, with responsibilities as "MOC Originator" for maintenance.

  • Participate in activities to support integration of new projects, such as Design Reviews, Hazard Assessments (PHA, HAZOP), SORT (Operability, PSSR), etc.

  • May regularly sit in for a Supervisor during absences.

  • May sit on technical committee or advisory team.

  • Communication may be written or verbal and aimed at technical and non- technical audiences. May involve technical and/or business analysis or "making a case" for the expenditure of significant resources (e.g. justification for initial project development and/or upgrading of systems).

  • Communications may involve cross functional audiences.

  • Ensures all documentation for E&M work is completed and approved based on company requirements (SAP, QA/QC, permits, etc.).

  • Interfaces with other Technical Maintenance crews as required to support work activities.

  • Audit, environmental, PHMSA and safety compliance.

  • Preparing written or verbal information that is Inservice of the business. This may involve technical and/or business analysis or "making a case" for the expenditure of significant resources (e.g. justification for initial project development and/or upgrading of systems).

  • Plan and coordinate the work of contractors or maintenance crews.

  • Lead the planning and execution of complex processes such as:

    • Pipeline and Meter Station Outages.

    • Pipeline Isolations, Purge and Pack, Lockout Tagout, Hot Cuts, Blowdowns.

    • Pig Runs, Construction Oversight

  • Developing and implementing a timeline to achieve targets.

  • Conducting training of team members to ensure competency.

  • Support the Area Supervisor to highlight operational risks and areas for improvement.

  • Responds to equipment malfunction, physical damage and/or fire, vandalism and/or threats in order to properly handle emergency situations to safeguard life and property. Must be familiar with the application of relevant procedures.

  • Implements all lock out/tag out procedures as they apply to the job functions to ensure personnel safety.

  • Completes reports accurately and completely and has a working knowledge of applicable local filing systems as required.

  • Obtains training as required to maintain qualifications.

  • Utilizes proper procedures for ordering, receiving, and transferring materials as well as performing physical inventory.

  • Works with Area and Region personnel in making recommendations as to levels of spare parts for equipment needed to perform normal maintenance and minimize down time.

  • Assists in planning work and contributing budget related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process.

  • Reviews and interprets drawings, sketches and as-builts.

  • Consistently works in a safe, responsible manner and actively participates in safely related programs.

  • Actively participates as a work group team member and maintains a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.

  • Consistently projects a professional Company image when interacting with non-Company personnel.

  • Performs work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.

  • Author professionally written, detailed emails/reports and other communication using Microsoft Office products.

  • Enter data, and source information in specialized computer programs.

  • Adhere to Enbridge policies and procedures.

  • Coach and lead team members.

  • Must calculate various metrics requiring basic math skills

  • Conduct all tasks in a safety conscious manner.

  • Performs all duties as assigned.

Who you are:

You have the following education and/or experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Eight years' experience and at least three years of experience at the fully qualified Field Operator III/Sr. Pipeline Tech level

    Former Utility Pipeliner II experience will be considered in the evaluation of fully qualified.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, be on call and standby, and travel overnight as required.

  • Can perform tasks requiring heavy physical exertion in sometimes extreme weather conditions.

  • Currently resides or is willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

Desired Qualifications

  • College degree or technical school diploma.

  • Committed to and able to display integrity, safety, and respect in the workplace.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Excellent oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

  • Working knowledge of operations used in maintenance and repair of pipelines and operational equipment.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.

  • Able to work independently with little to no direction.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Able to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honesty, and openness are valued.

  • Proven ability to drive and perform job duties safely.

  • Innovative problem solver without compromising SOPs.

  • Willing to assume responsibility and take initiative to resolve issues.

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying ( up to 50 amount of pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
