JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative (EIC) (https://evidence2impact.psu.edu/) transforms the use of research evidence in decision-making through cross-system collaboration for the optimization of social investments. The EIC is a research center and information hub for the science of using social science. We leverage our expertise in administrative data, program evaluation, and researcher-policymaker relationships for social investment optimization.

About the position

The EIC is seeking a motivated, self-starter to act as a hybrid or remote-based Research Technologist (RT) to support the organization and daily operations of the Research Translation Platform.

Because the RT and their work will play an important role in supporting the Research Translation Platform, motivation to meet the needs of the team and an ability to adapt accordingly are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry/management
  • Meeting coordination and scheduling for multiple attending parties
  • Maintaining/updating communications and social media (e.g., updating websites using WordPress; posting to Twitter using TweetDeck)
  • Keeping detailed and up-to-date records and protocols
  • Supporting the Research Project Manager, and other leaders on other administrative and communications projects/initiatives
  • Travel reconciliation and scheduling
  • Event coordination
  • Researching new tools and/or platforms
  • Working to resolve technical issues
  • Developing new or improved strategies for communications, operations, and organization.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position will report to the Project Manager. This position would be best suited to a highly adaptable individual with comfort in learning on-the-job skills, including adapting workload due to changing priorities.

Compensation

Candidate Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance multiple on-going projects and ensure their successful and timely completion
  • Willingness to be flexible and learn new skills with shifting demands
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team; takes initiative for problem solving but also knows when to ask for support
  • Communicates regularly about the status of tasks and how time is spent; communication and time tracking software are used as part of the team's standard workflow
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Previous work communicating and collaborating in a professional, remote setting
  • Experience with data management and administrative duties
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office suite and software
  • Experience with online communication and project management platforms (e.g., the EIC uses Asana)
