The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking motivated and detail-oriented Solar Engineering Interns to join our Solar team for Summer 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy while working alongside a team of experienced engineers and technicians. Under close supervision, you'll receive specific and detailed instructions to support tasks such as electrical studies, performance analysis, and site layout development. This internship offers valuable exposure to solar design engineering and real-world consulting work at a top-tier engineering firm.

What You'll Do



  • Support engineers on solar design projects including performance modeling, site layouts, and electrical calculations
  • Learn how to apply engineering principles to solar energy systems
  • Assist with creating technical documents and drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent software
  • Perform data analysis and help interpret solar energy system performance
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project milestones and deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with team members and share updates on assigned tasks
  • Other engineering related tasks to support internal initiatives and external work

What You'll Gain



  • Fundamentals of solar energy design, modeling, and layout
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and solar design tools
  • Application of electrical and/or mechanical engineering principles in renewable energy

What We Expect from You



  • A minimum of two years completed toward earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/ mechanical engineering or other applicable engineering disciplines by Summer 2026 (required)
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools (required)
  • Familiarity with Python programming is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Access optional)
  • Ability to perform or support electrical studies (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work full-time during Summer 2026
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $29/hr.
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
