Job Summary: The Director of Enterprise Nursing Education is responsible for leading and overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and initiatives within the nursing enterprise. This role ensures that nursing staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality patient care and stay current with the latest advancements in nursing practice. The Director demonstrates advanced leadership and communication skills and the ability to manage and successfully mediate conflict, while upholding the organization's commitment to core values, productivity, and quality across the nursing enterprise. Provides leadership and direction with a variety of programs and initiatives identified in the Nursing Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

65% Educational Program Development and Implementation

  • Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates initiatives to disseminate and integrate all aspects of the professional practice model enterprise wide.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive educational programs for nursing staff, including orientation, continuing education, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and priorities.
  • Ensure that educational programs are evidence-based and aligned with best practices in nursing education.
  • Monitor and analyze educational outcomes and performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address identified gaps and enhance the quality of educational programs.
  • Design and implement curricula for nursing education programs, incorporating adult learning principles and innovative teaching methods.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Stay current with advancements in nursing education and incorporate new knowledge and technologies into curricula.

25% Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide leadership and direction to nursing educators and staff involved in educational programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to promote interdisciplinary approaches to education and training.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff in the areas of education and professional development.
  • Partner with vendors and industry experts to facilitate and deliver education to the nursing team.
  • Serve as a key partner with the schools of nursing and Transition to Practice team to support nursing learners and new graduates in successful skills and competency development.

5% Technology

  • Lead the education department to adopt new technologies such as VR, simulation, and other advances to promote innovation in learning for the nursing enterprise.
  • Collaborate with IT and Nursing Informatics to deliver IT systems and technology training and education.

5% Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards related to nursing education.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Stay current with changes in regulations and standards and update educational programs accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field required; Doctorate preferred.
  • Current RN license.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in nursing education and leadership.
  • Holds a current certification in nursing administration or area of clinical expertise; or certification must be achieved within the timeline of eligibility.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and evidence-based teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in nursing education or related field.
  • Experience in curriculum design and implementation.
